Mupparimanam – Review

After Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga, Shanthnu Baghyaraj is back to prove his worth in Mupparimanam.

Directed by Adhiroopan, the entire movie revolves around two youngsters. Srushti Dange plays the female lead. Actor Prasanna plays a key role in the movie.

The movie is bankrolled by Shamayalaya Creations, Pollachi V Visu and Pollachi Gold V Kumar.

It all starts with an exciting scene where Kathir (Shanthnoo) is seen at a gunpoint. Then comes the flashback, where Karthir is seen escaping with the bride Anu (Shruste Dange). They are chaised by Anu’s murderous brother and cops. Again there is another flashback which shows Kathir and Anu as childhood friends, who later turn lovers. The twist is where Anu gets kidnapped by Kathir and then rest of the story unfolds.

Why he kidnaps her? Is Kathir a good guy? Why are so many people against their union is what the movie is all about? A love story, Mupparimanam deals with another dimension of love.

The second half is engrossing and has several twists. Although this makes the movie watchable, at places it makes for an overdose.

Shanthnoo has evolved as an actor. There is a lot of difference in teh way he presents him on screen. This adds to his advantage.

Music by G V Prakash is worth mentioning. All the tracks are pleasant, however the background score has been a little underplayed. Editing by Vivek Harshan is crips and lively.

Adhiroopan has done a good job with his movie. Except for a few loopholes and excessive twists, the movie has its own depth.
