While Karthi awaits the release of his upcoming movie Kaatru Veliyidai that is directed by Mani Ratnam, he has now begun shooting for his next.
Titled Dheeran Adhigaram Ondru, it will be directed by Vinod of Sathuranga Vettai fame.
An action thriller, Karthi is said to be playing the role of an investigative cop Dheeran.
Sources say Karthi will undergoe a special training to get the police look right.
The movie which will have a North India connect will mostly be fimmed in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Marathi poet and actor Kishore Kadam will make his Kollywood debut in this film.
The flick is to be produced by SR Prabhu’s Dream Warrior Pictures.
Rakul Preet Singh has been signed to play the female lead. Music will be by Ghibran.
