Work on Sangamithra begins

Sundar C is all set to start his next Sangamithra in June. The team is now with the movie’s preproduction works.

The film’s art director Sabu Cyril is getting his work ready. Pottery, knives and other artifacts used in the ancient times are being readied for the shooting.

Sources from Sri Thenandal Films, who are producing the movie wrote on twitter, ‘Active preproduction in swing for #Sangamithra #ArtDept #creativeflow Exciting 2017 ahead!!!!’

Sanghamitra is to have Arya and Jayam Ravi in lead roles. The two are learning horse riding and sword fighting for their characters. The movie is being made at budget of Rs 350 crores.

A period flick, the movie will be filmed for over two years at various locations across the globe. The film is written and directed by Sundar C.

The movie would be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. AR Rahman will be doing the music for the film, while RC Kamalakannan will take care of VFX and Sabu Cyril the production design.

Sudeep Chatterjee of Bajirao Mastani fame will handle the camera. Resul Pookutty has been signed for the sound design.

Meanwhile, the director is on the lookout for a heroine and has approached some Bollywood actress for the same.
