Pasanga 2 – Review

At a time when mindless masalas and commercial fares rule the roost in Kollywood comes director Pandiraj with Pasanga 2. A sensible films that speaks about the peer pressure on students and how emotionally they are subjected to pressure in today’s competitive world. Hold on ! Nowhere the director has gone preachy and manages to engage and entertain all. Three cheers should be given to the producer and actor Suriya. He gathered guts to sponsor such a venture deserves special mention. If Pasanga spoke about the lives of children in rural areas, Pandiraj now comes out with a sequel that throws light on parental pressure on children in cities. He has tried to convey that children are mere puppets in the hands of their parents today in this competitive world. They are not allowed to be themselves and are always thrusted with the aspirations and desires of their parents. From pregnancy to admission to marks, the life of a child in a city is at stake conveys Pandiraj. He has chosen a couple of familes and the boy and girl there are hyper active . But it is failed to be noticed not just by their parents and their teachers and eventually they are dumpoer in a hostel. Steps Dr Tamilnadan (Suriya) and his wife teachar Venba (Amala Paul), who works in a school. They change the outlook of the familes . They come up with alternatives to encourage and motivate children. Three cheers to Pandiraj. It is a filmmakers’s movie and he manages to ensure momentum without losing focus on the plot. The dialogues are razor sharp. Surriya’s performance is cool and casual and his role has a positive effect. Amala Paul is cute and bubbly. The tow leading kids Master Nishesh and Baby Vaishnavi done a fabulous job.   Arrol Coreli’s music is noteworthy. Balasubramaniam’s camera is another highlight. The lens captures the lives rural emotion well. All said, Pasanga 2 is here to stay.
