Jayam Ravi is at it. This time he plays a North Chennai boxer who is more brawny in the first half and brainy in post interval. The movie by Kalyankrishna speaks about the travails of this boxer and how a private television channel tries to make huge money using the sport. The movie touches upon the lives of many in north Chennai for whom boxing is everything. The munite details are worked out well. But what is lacking is the final punch. The first part is almost close to reality while the narration in second part to farcial especially the Jayam Ravi and Nathan Jones fight. However Jananthan’s fiery dialogues and Jayam Ravi’s efforts on screen saves the day. Jayam Ravi plays Bhooloham, for whom boxing is everything. There is a ladylove in the form of Trisha. Enters Dinesh (Prakashraj), a tv channel owner with sinister moves. He sees money in everything. When Bhooloham feels boxing is leading him to violent ways and he decides to drop his gloves, fate has other plans in the form of Dinesh. Eventually he is compelled to fight with an international boxer George (Nathan Jones). The rest is the clash between Jayam Ravi and Nathan Jones is makes the end of the story. The best part of the movie is Jayam Ravi as Booloham. He fits the role to T and delivers one of his best. The fiery dialogues in the second half reminds one of films like Peranmai and Thani Oruvan. He is the flesh and blood of the movie. Trisha has very little to do. But manages to give her best. The cast needs to be appreciated. Prajashraj as the channel owner with ulterior motive and Ponvannnan and Shanmugarajan as coaches have done their part exceedingly well. Srikanth Deva’s re-recording supports the movie. Finally Booloahm has knockout punches but misses in few places.
