The Supreme Court today issued notice to Tamilnadu government seeking its reply within a week on the removal of thespian Sivaji Ganesan statue erected at the tri-junction of Kamarajar Salai – Radhakrishnan Salai opposite Gandhi statue in Chennai.
The Tamilnadu government a week ago moved the Supreme Court seeking two years to shift Sivaji Ganesan’s statue.
In its appeal, the State government challenged a Madras High Court order directing shifting of the statue by 16 November and refusing to grant time for doing so.
When the plea came up for hearing today, the apex court ordered issuing notice to the State government.
