‘Beep’ song – Simbu files plea in HC

Actor Simbu, who was to appear before both Chennai and Coimbatore police today in connection with the Beep Song row, chose to file a petition with the Madras High Court this morning stating that he cannot appear in two different places on the same day.

Amid speculation that the actor would turn up at the police Commissionerate in Chennai, a petition was filed on his behalf with the High Court.

It may be recalled that the actor faced wrath of many ever since Beep Song was leaked on YouTube.

Allegedly sung by the actor, the number with derogatory lyrics on women saw several cases filed against him in Chennai, Coimbatorte police stations besides petitions seeking legal action against was filed in many courts across the State.

Many students and women’s organisations staged protests against the actor.

The Madras High Court had earlier directed Simbu to produce himself before Chennai and Coimbatore police and gave him time till 29 January.
