THE LOST PARADISE is a 25 min silent short film in the theme Journey of hope. This is the story of a man, who after 15 years of imprisonment, takes a journey filled with hope.
‘Aaranya kaandam’ fame “guru somasundharam” has done the lead role in this film. His noted films also includes the recent release Manirathnam’s ‘Kadal’. Other cast includes Yokshana, Banu, Anantha lakshmi, Srilokh.
THE LOST PARADISE was shot in 7 days in the locations like Chennai, Kanchipuram and Coorg (Karnataka). This is also one of the very few short films which have done the same treatment as feature films like orchestra recording & Digital intermediate (D.I) processing. This film was shot at a budget of Rs. 2 lakhs (approx).
The film is being sent to various international festivals around the globe and is currently being selected festivals like Festoria film festival in Portugal and Gujarat national film festival and few more.
A grand screening of the film was done on june 2nd 2013, in RKV studios Chennai. The living legend BALU MAHENDRA and Actor SIVAJI DEV attended and made the event a very big success. BALU MAHENDRA had praised the effort and shared some of the techniques with the team.
THE LOST PARADISE is written & directed by Anil Krishnan , Produced by Srihari Prabaharan & Andrew Christopher, Cinematography by Saleem bilal, Music composed by Uma Shankar. This is the debut directorial venture by Anil krishnan, who is basically an editor and have edited almost 60+ short films, Music videos, corp. videos etc.
Producer – Srihari Prabaharan is also a noted short film maker in the industry who have directed 5 short films including the recent award winning short film KASAPPU INIPPU.
Cinematographer Saleem bilal was the associate cinematographer to late Jeeva (director/cinematographer) and also have done 2 full length feature films in tamil. Uma Shankar – The music composer is known for his works in short films like THE DOOR, KASAPPU INIPPU and also have done music, jingles for Advertisements.
