Veteran music composer M S Viswanathan (87), who was treated at a private hospital for geriatric disorders passed away Tuesday morning.
Called as MSV and Mellisai Mannar by his fans and the film fraternity, he worked with legends from MGR till the present younger generation.
MSV, a household name in Tamil Nadu, had scored music for hundreds of films, including Tamil and other languages and his association with iconic lyricist of yesteryear Kaviyarasu Kannadasan is legendary in giving evergreen songs.
His brilliant partnership with Ramamurthy, also a music composer, is historic as the duo produced super hit songs. Together they had the famous creditline of Viswanathan-Ramamurthy.
Viswanathan’s journey began with Panam (Tamil, 1952) and his career graph continued to be on the rise for decades after that.
Besides scoring music, he sang songs for mnany films and much latyer acted in many cinemas too.
He has won many awards and accolades. He was a resident of Santhome and his cremation would take place tomorrow.
