Vairamuthu turns up at Madras High Court.
Veteran lyricist Vairamuthu appeared at a court in Chenani today.
A petition was filed by film financier S Mukanchand Bothra of Sowcarpet, who sought the court to initiate suo motu contempt against Vairamuthu , for allegedly undermining the dignity and integrity of judges during his speech on 12 September.
Taking part in a function, Vairamuthu made few comments after Judges that left a bad taste among advocates.
A notice was issued by Division Bench comprising Judges Satish K. Agnihotri and K K Sasidharan to Vairamuthu to appear today before the court.
The case came up for hearing before Justice R Sudhakar and P N Prakash today. Hearing the plea, the Bench wondered why the petition came up before them when it was heard by another Bench. Refusing to hear the arguments, they sent the case to Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
