Actress Akshara Haasan, who started off as an assistant director is now making a mark for herself as an actress. After a stunning performance in her Bollywood debut with Shamitabh, nothing seem to be stopping her.
Her upcoming flick Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana is all set for release. She is also part of Vivegam that has Ajith playing the lead.
In Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana, she plays the role of a modern girl, who gets pregnant before marriage. Speaking about her role, Akshara Haasan, said, ‘I am thrilled to be part of such a movie. I think it is time that such issues are discussed in cinema. As a country, we need to open up and think progressive.’
She explains, ‘I play the role of a modern girl, who gets pregnant before marriage and decides to live life on her own terms when her boyfriend decides to shirk his responsibility as a father. We wanted to make a story about premarital pregnancy without being preachy about it. As a country, we need to open up and think progressive. We have to open up a lot.’
However, she is also excited about her first Tamil flick Vivegam. She is sharing the screen with Ajith and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi.
She said, ‘I don’t want to reveal any information about the film or my role. It is an interesting character. To share the screen with Ajith is a delight. He is a thorough professional and is quite friendly on the sets. The same can be said of Vivek Oberoi, who also plays a key role in the movie.’
