The South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) is planning to raise funds to build their own building by playing cricket.
Actors will wield the willow for a celebrity cricket match this April in Chennai, say honchos of the association.
At an emergency meeting of the ex-ecutive council chaired by its president Nasser on Sunday a resolution was passed for scrapping the deal with SPI Cinemas which was struck up earlier by the Sarath Kumar led team.
They resolved to pay the money spent so far by SPI Cinemas through loan and get the agreement scrapped.
And it was decided to settle the loan and the cricket matches are being organised to collect money for the project.
