Thani Oruvan – Review

Thani Oruvan is a one man crusade against white collar criminals and organised crime that is on the rise in the recent past. Jayam Ravi does a splendid job. Nayanthara plays a dignified role. She has a meaty part to play in the story. Her romance with Jayam Ravi is portrayed in a dignified manner. Three Cheers to Aravindswamy as he steels the show as Siddarth Abimanya. The likes of Nasser, Ganesh Venkatraman, Muktha Godse and Thambi Ramiah chip in with their best making it a wholesome engaging entertainer. Mithran (Jayam Ravi), an IPS officer, has a mission to accomplish. As soon as he is posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police in the city, he decides to weed out white collar criminals. He comes to know that Siddharth Abhimanyu (Aravind Swami), an eminent scientist is behind drug cartel, land mafia and hawala transactions. Mithran follows all the crimes in the city and sketches a plan to arrest Siddharth. The rest is cat and mouse between the two. Ramji, the seasoned cinematographer has used different colour tones to reflect the mood of each scene in the film. Hip Hop Adhi’s background score gives a racy feel. Thani Oruvan – One man show, go and watch it.
