Madras High Court stays Nadigar Sangam polls

The Madras High Court today granted an interim stay on the conduct of elections to Nadigar Sangam (for 15 July).

A petition was filed by actor Vishal alleging that elections announced for 15 July should be postponed as it is a working day and also couple of retired Judges should be appointed to monitor the poll process.

Judge Ravichandra Babu today the Judge granted an interim stay and posted the case for further hearing after six weeks.

An elated Vishal, said, ‘We are happy with the judgement. We hope the Nadigar Sangam will take cognizance of the judgement and take efforts for a smooth conduct of elections in future’.
