Lawrence, known for his philanthropic activities, announced setting up of a trust called ‘Kalam Kaladichuvattil’ and donated a sum of Rs. 1 crore towards it.
He said that he will select 100 youngsters across the State and divide the amount to Rs one lakh each and give them. Their task would be to identify charity works and distribute the sum.
He said that his dream is to get selected for the Abdul Kalam award announced by the State government, since he is a great admirer of Kalam, Lawrence said and added, ‘one derives great joy doing charity works’.
Interestingly, actor-director Lawrence Raghavendra will start two movies for Vendhar Movies. At a function held in Chennai , he unvieled the title and first look of both the films.
Lawrence will direct besides playing the lead role in Mettai Siva Mottai Siva, which will have Kajal Agarwal as heroine and Naaga, a thriller set around cobra.
Madhan of Vendhar Films, TFPC president Kalaipuli S Dhanu, Parthiban, cameraman Velraj and editor Mohan were also present on the occasion.
