Ahead of the release of Puli, actor Vijay saw the officials of Income Tax Department today conducting surprise searches at his houses and offices.
Producers of Puli Shibu Thameens, PT Selvakumar and its director Chimbudevan also came under IT radar as their premises were raided from 7 am today.
Sources in IT department confirmed that the searches were confined not just to Puli team, but also the residences and offices of actresses Samantha, Nayanthara and a host of producers including Tamil Film Producer Council president Kalaipuli S Dhanu and a few financiers were raided on complaints of tax evasion.
The raids were conducted on a total of 32 premises in Chennai, Madurai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad.
