Close on the heels of a spate of complaints lodged against actor Simbu and music composer Anirudh over the controversial Beep song, city police have intensified their search for the duo.
The two are facing criminal cases for the song, which allegedly contains vulgar lyrics denigrating women.
Reports say that a team of police visited the actor’s house at Masilamani Street in T Nagar laste last night. Since the actor was not present at the house during the enquiry, they have stepped up search for him.
Meanwhile it is said that a strict vigil is being maintained at Chennai airport to keep track on when Anirudh is returning from Toronto and also prevent Simbu from going abroad.
It may be recalled that Madras High Court yesterday declined to grant any relief, including interim stay on police summons or interim anticipatory bail, to Simbu.
Justice B Rajendran, before whom the advance bail petition filed by Simbu, came up, directed the Coimbatore police to extend the date of personal appearance of the actor before 2nd January to 5th January when the court reopens after Christmas – New Year holidays.
