Masala Padam – Review

Can a blogger who tears a movie in his reviews in online media make a movie ?. What difficulties he would face doing them?. Is it an easy job or does he surrender to his fate?. This forms the crux of Masala Padam. Directed by Laxman, the movie stars Bobby Simha, Mirchi Shiva, Gaurav and Lakshmi Devy in key roles. In today’s techno-driven world, everyone is a critic by himself. The movie begins with a set of bloggers watching a movie and comes out tearing it. One fine day, a popular producer gives them an opportunity to script for a movie. Bloggers team sets out to find story and finds it difficult now. They comes across three individuals Mani (Shiva), Krish (Gaurav) and Amudhan (Bobby Simha) and realizes that the three individuals have something in them and that their lives can be chronicled as movie. There comes to rescue Devi (Lakshmy Devy), a photo journalist. Now the task begins for the bloggers. Does they execute the task or not ? What happens in their plan forms the rest. The movie is well etched out with right twists and turns. But however the second half could have been more interesting, the speed misses out. Also the bloggers seems to give up their fate quite easily. Bobby Simha and Mirchi shiva does a wonderful job. They give a super show on screen. The travails of filmmakers are neatly portrayed. All, said Masala Padam is spicy but with less flavor.
