A rural action film with enough sentiments and emotions never failed to strike a chord with the masses.
Much recently director Muthiah proved it with Kombam. He is at it again with Maruthu with Vishal playing the lead.
A neatly-packaged movie with enough commercial elements, Maruthu makes an interesting watch from the word go.
Vishal who proved his might in such roles in films like Sandai Kozhi and Paandiya Naadsu excels here. The role is tailor-made for him. He dazzles. Giving him good company of Sri Dhivya.
Also the likes of Soori, Radharavi, Marimuthu, RK Suresh and Aruldosss besides Malayalam actress Leela adds more weight to the script.
Imman’s brilliant musical score is a pillar to the story and the background score fits the scenes well.
Produced by Anbuchezhiyan, Maruthu unfolds in Rajapalayam.
Maruthu (Vishal) is man of good deeds. Brought up in such a way by his loving grandmother Mariamma (Leela), he respects woman a lot. For Marudhu fun under the sun are moments with his friend Kokkarako (Soori) in Rajapalayam.
Maruthu comes across Rolex Pandian (RK Suresh), an influential man who wants to to become politician. There is trouble between Marudhu’s ladylove Baghyalakshmi (Sri Divya) and Rolex Pandian as the latter brutally murdered the former’s mother. Marudhu coms to Bhagyalakshmi’s rescue. How they join hands to fight Rolex forms the crux.
Interestingly the movie is engaging affair with enough action and emotions that manages a good watch.
Three cheers to Muthiah and Vishal for getting the act right, with more blood & gore though.
