Skill workshop for film workers in November – Kamalhassan

The President of AIFEC (All India Film Employees Confederation) G Shiva, under the guidance of Media and Entertainment Skills Council chairman Kamal Hassan, has decided to organize a three-day workshop bringing together 35 film unions for conducting Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for about 10,000 workforce currently working in the film industry.

According to a press release, this initiative which was announced at the Global Skills Summit 2015 held in New Delhi, is a three day workshop involving training which would be conducted by national and international film dignitaries, technicians, specialists in 16 trades or job roles and certificates given for the prior skills.

The Film Union has also announced a three day work holiday for the skill during second week of November making it a ‘workers driven’ initiative.

MESC has participated in the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY scheme) and enrolled about 5000 students Pan India to undertake training under various affiliated training partners, the release said.
