The curtains are coming down on 2015. A look back at the year for music compsoers reveal that the year belonged to young musicians.
Over a dozen new face tried their luck this year. Interestingly the year saw Ilayaraja releasing his 1000th musical. Tharai Thappatai directed by Bala is Ilayaraja’s 1000th venture. However due to floods, the maestro chose to play down any celebrations and opted for a soft launch of the audio.
The year also saw him being conferred the lifetime achievement award at the International Film Festival in Goa. Though he has been facing troubles over Beep Song, the year saw Anirudh dominating the charts with hits in many films including Nanum Rowdy Thaan and Vedalam.
For Rahman, 2015 will be rememberd for a Fatwa issued by a fringe Muslim groups for him scoringh music for a movie omn Prophet Mohammad, directed by Majidi Majid
