The officials of Cyber Crime police today said that youtube has not responded to their repeated requests to get details about who uploaded the controversial beepsong, allegedly sung by actor Simbu and composed by Anirudh.
Police sources said, ‘The cyber crime officials had written to youtube on four occasions in the past few weeks. But they have not extended any co-operation and no information was exchanged’.
The song, with alleged vulgar words, witnessed protests from various quarters and cases were filed against Simbu and Anirudh.
Members of various women’s welfare associations today announced that they are ready to withdraw the cases they filed against both the film personalities, if they tender an open apology.
