Shankar’s Mudhalvan that was made 15 years ago is all set to have a sequel in Hindi. The first part titled (in Hindi) Nayak.
The Real Hero had Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in lead roles.
Now it is learnt that Eros International has joined hands with producer Deepak Mukut for Part 2 which will be penned by writer KV Vijayendra Prasad of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali fame.
‘I have bought the rights from AM Rathnam, the original producer. The sequel will be a political satire with romance as the backdrop. It will take off from where the original one left but with a completely different story.
Some characters, like the lead, Shivaji Rao (played by Anil), will be retained,’ says Deepak.
