‘Actor Rajinikanth has already gave away Rs one crore for interlinking of rivers project. It has been deposited in the bank.
When the work gets kicked off, the money will be handed over to the authorities concerned’, said the actor’s elder brother Sathyanarayana today.
He was in Thanjavur along with his family members to offer prayers at Lord Brahadeeswarar temple.
Asked about protests announced by farmers against the actor on interlinking of rivers issue, Sathyanarayana, said, ‘As announced, my brother has already donated a sum of Rs one crore towards the cause’.
He added, ‘Rajinikanth is in America taking rest. He is all well and would be returning to Chennai soon’.
Asked about the top actor’s upcoming film Kabali, he said, ‘There is a huge expectation for the film. It has come really good. It is sure to create history at the box office’.
Kabali starring Rajinikanth is releasing 15 July across the globe in four languages.
