Lakshmi Menon who was to play the female lead in director Paneerselvam’s next titled Karuppan has opted out of the flick.
Sources say the actress suffered a ligament tear and fracture during her dance rehearsals and is advised complete bed rest.
She has been replaced by Tanya Ravichandran of Bale Vellaiyathevaa fame.
Bobby Simha will be seen as the baddie in Karuppan and Kishore also plays an important role.
Produced by AM Ratnam the movie has Vijay Sethupathy in the lead. Music is by D Imman and Yugabharathi will write the lyrics.
Based on a rural theme, the untitled flick is said to be glorifying jallikattu and will show Vijay Sethupathi in a complete makerover.
Paneerselvam has directed Rengigunda and 18 Vayasu earlier.
