Actor Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam, a remake of the French film Sleepless Night (Nuit Blanche), is hitting the screens this Deepavali. With just a week to go for the movie’s release, Kamal Haasan said, ‘it is an engaging thriller’.
Directed by Rajesh M Selva, a former associate of Kamal Haasan, the movie has Trisha, Prakashraj, Sampthraj, Yuhi Sethu and Kishore among others in the cast. Music is by Ghibran. Produced by Rajkamal Films International, the movie runs for two hours and five minutes.
Though it is a remake of French film, the director has made enough changes in the story to suit Tamil audience. ‘There is a lot of cultural difference between India and France. The way they react to a death is subtle, while it is loud here’, says Rajesh.
Trisha’s make-over is new for any heroine in Tamil cinema.
