Aagam is a movie that is the need of the hour – the brain drain and how young Indian minds are made to go abroad and work, thereby creating a vacuum of intellectuals in the country form the crux. Interestingly, the vision 2020 of Abdul Kalam and the need to realise the same are stressed in the film. The movie in a nutshell is about a young man’s desire to make India a developed nation. It is directed by Dr V Vijay Anand Sriram. Sundattam and Saravanan Meenakshi fame Irfan play the lead role in the movie that also has newcomer Deekshitha. Jayaprakash, Y.Gee.Mahendran, Riyaz Khan, Arjun and Balaji Mohan among others play important roles in the movie. A group of mafia involve in recruiting the best young students abroad and takes a a huge money. How it affects our country make up the movie. Irfan plays Sai, a young boy who fights against brain drain in the country. There is Akilesh Acharya (Riyaz Khan), who is students from India to go and work abroad and gets a hefty fee for the same. Sriram (Jayaprakash) comes up with an alternative plan. What happens between the three forms the crux. Cinematography is by RV Saran and music by Vishal Chandrasekhar. An able cast and a good storyline, Aagam missed to attract the audience. Mushy melodrama and amateurish scenes spoils the show and at many places, the preachy dialogues could have been avoided.
