A year after taking office at the Nadigar Sangam, the bearers have announced that the accounts of the sangam will be made public.
General secretary Vishal and treasures Karthi have denied irregularities in the conduct of star cricket and announcing that accounts of the event would be made public.
The sangam put up the details at nadigarsangam.org.
Says Vishal, ‘Battling corruption allegations from a faction of the actors union, our treasurer Karthi will soon release accounts of funds raised and expenditure on the official website – nadigarsangam.org.’
Since August, Nadigar Sangam member Varahi has been alleging corruption by current office-bearers, claiming they misused Rs six crore from the Sangam coffers collected through star cricket.
Varahi alleged that the heads of the association had swindled money and even filed a police complaint.
Vishal had earlier stated that those who are making allegations against them should show the proof first.
