Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga – Review

There have been movies on illicit relationships that portray emotions, betrayal and romance, however, very few show the other side of it, which is guilt.

Radhakrishnan Parthiepan’s Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga (KIN) has this and much more.

An adult comedy thriller, the movie has Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Parvathy Nair in lead roles. Parthiepan who has written and directed the movie has also played a crucial character in it.  Actress Simran plays a guest appearance in the film.

The movie is about three main characters Kevin (Shanthanu Bhagyaraj), Mohini (Parvathy Nair) and Rangarajan (Parthiepan). A sort of triangular love story, the movie talks in length about adult comedy, sensuality and is definitely tempting.

A movie set for youngsters, it revolves around Rangarajan, a cab driver who makes extra money as a real estate agent. A stunning looking Kevin, an NRI comes to Chennai. Rangarajan is appointed as his cab drivers. Apart from driving him along, Rangarajan makes him stay in a posh guest house. Here is where Mohini works as a maid. A stunning beauty from Kerala, Kevin falls for her. He later comes to know that she is married to Rangarajan and is seeming to be devoted to him. However, things take a turn when Kevin finds out that Mohini is not satisfied in the marriage and he jumps in to fill in the gap.

Call it a trick or treat, Kevin’s life takes a complete turn when he is faced with guilt. He offers to marry Mohini, who wants to stay married to Rangarajan. The twits in the climax makes the entire movie worth watching.

The hero of the movie is Parthiepan as he shoulders the entire movie in his shoulder. He is actual protagonist who has a grey shade. His punchlines and double meaning dialogues does not make the movie a family watch. However, he has tried to capture the young audiences.

KIN is a comeback film for Shanthnu. He looks stunning in his new look. His character as Kevin has given him enough scope to perform. One of his best is the dance which was choreographed by Prabhu Deva.

Simran’s cameo is pretty short. She appears as Kevin’s guru and is more of an advisor. Parvathy Nair is a hot property. Her role as the Rangarajan’s young wife has character. She can speak Malayalam and is someone who can make men fall at her feet.

Thambi Ramaiah’s plays a cab helper who has a illness. He tends to forget things and gets himself tangled in various issues. His presence in the movie is very small.

Well all that glitters in definately not gold and this is what the director in Radhakrishnan Parthiepan has tried to tell in the entire movie.

A slow paced flick, Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga is watchable and is only suited for adults
