Muthina Kathirikka Movie Review

Muthina Kathirikka a remake of the Malayalam hit Vellimoonga has turned out to be a good family entertainer. Starring Sundar C, Poonam Bajwa, D Singampuli, VTV Ganesh and Sathish in lead roles, the movie is about a politician and his political and love life. The movie narrates with humour the story of a rural politician played by Sundar C and his ideologies. In the hands of directed Venkat Raghavan, who is Sundar C’s assistant, the movie has managed to bring laughter in almost all the scenes. Muthina Kathirikka has been produced by Avni Cinemax. Sundar C, is a 41-year-old man. Beyond marriage age, he almost gives up on the idea of finding a life partner. Responsibilities mount on him due to his fathers’ early demise. His father was a politician, but could not make an earning out of it. Sundar is mistake for a politician at a police station since he was wearing white vesti and shirt. Sundar understands the potential of it and becomes a politician. Instead of joining existing political parties, he joins a national party that has hardly has any workers. Later, this party makes an alliance with the main political party and Sundar becomes a candidate for them in the next election. In the process, Sundar befriends several enemies in his village because of his nature. It during this time, that Sundar meets Poonam Bajwa and falls for her. When things seem to be going well, he learns that Poonam is the daughter of his childhood crush. Because of this, Poonam’s father does not like Sundar and is against the marriage. Does he win the election ? Does he manage to marry Poonam is what forms the climax. Like a typical Sundar C’s movie, the movie has more hilarious scenes in the ending portion. Sundar C suits very well for the 40+ character. Poonam Bajwa’s glamour impresses youth audience more than her acting performance. Venkat Raghavan has made his mentor proud through this flick. Music by Siddharth Vipin is a class. He has managed to take humour to a next level with his compositions and BGMs. Sathish, Singam Puli and VTV Ganesh have been excellent supporting actors. Post interval there is not much interesting sequences is the minus point for the film.
