Production – Kalaipuli S Dhanu has come out with a movie that is engaging and entertaining all the way. But with enough action sequences in right mix, the movie ends up a special one for Atharvaa. After donning the role of an athlete in Eeti, Atharvaa does a super act as journalist with greater ambitions. He does emote well and he is bubbly and energetic all through. Kalaipuli S Dhanu deserves a special mention for producing a movie with a purpose. It speaks about faults in our system and how to plug them. Catherine Teresa of Madras fame is the heroine. Their on-screen chemistry is good. K Bhagyaraj, Tarun Arora, Sundar Ramu, Manobala and Karunakaran are also in the cast. Shivamani after Arima Nambi scores music for the film. Gowtham (Atharvaa) wants to end up as a BBC journalist. He works for a local channel. He is energetic and bubbly. He falls for Catherine Teresa. Meanwhile when Gowtham applies for job in BBC, he gets a shock. His certificates are found to be counterfeit and there is a big flaw behind all this. He lands in prison. The rest is all but how he sets things right and investigates the wrong deeds of the corrupt men in the varsity. Atharva is flesh and blood of the movie. He comes up with a strong performance. Catherine Teresa impresses and meaty role by Bhagiyaraj and Karunakaran adds weight to the script. Music by Shivamani goes with the story. All said santosh’s screenplay manages to hold the film together. But a length second half could have been trimmed. Kanithan on the whole is rich in content.
