Mahamayi a new mega-serial is a saga of mystery and a test of devotion by Goddess Mahamayi (a form of Goddess Shakthi) on one of her devotees Tripura Sundari.
The stories of gods, goddesses and demons, the triumph of good over evil may be nothing new, but they have time and again validated our belief systems, taught moral lessons, helped us transcend our karmic limitations and evolve spiritually through self-realisation.
The story of Mahamayi is one such story where the believer becomes an atheist due to circumstances and refuses to acknowledge the power of the goddess. Tripura Sundari, the main protagonist of the story, is your average girl from the village whose life revolves around the upkeep of Mahamayi’s temple in her village.
Her family’s livelihood and that of hers is dependent on that temple and yet curiously, instead of being god-fearing devotee she questions the power of the goddess in the temple. This earns her the wrath of her village folks including her family.
To complicate things Sundari’s sensitivity to all the injustice happening around her and her refusal to accept it ‘as it is’ gets her and her family in deep trouble every now and then.
As the story unfolds Sundari’s disbelief in the goddess takes the viewers in to her past incarnation where as Princess Rajeshwari, she was an ardent devotee of the goddess. She was haunted by three men with diabolical designs on goddess’s Shri Chakra – a powerful object of divinity.
Rajeshwari, in an attempt to save the Shri Chakra from falling in to the wrong hands, loses her life in the sanctum of the goddess’s shrine. She feels betrayed and in her dying breath vows never to worship the goddess. But as fate would have it, Sundari again finds herself being the guardian of Shri Chakra from the very same men who killed her for it in her previous birth.
How will the story turn out ?. Will Sundari understand the test of her faith on her by the goddess ?. Will she accept her destiny, embrace the goddess and take up the responsibility of protecting the Shri Chakra ?. Will the mother goddess redeem herself by blessing Sundari to protect her Shri Chakra ?.
