A day after they swept the Nadigar Sangam elections, the newly-elected president of the association Nasser and general secretary Vishal along with other office-bearers assumed office in Chennai Monday amidst cheers and applause.
This election divided the association into two main groups (Vishal and Sarath Kumar) after the previous office-bearers got into a contract with SPI Cinemas to privatise Nadigar Sangam’s 18-ground property.
No sooner they assumed office, Nasser and Vishal, among others drove straight to the Nadigar Sangam grounds which is approximately 18 gound in Habibullah Road and inspected the site.
They were received with ‘Aarathi’s and special prayers by the members of the association.
