‘Impressed watching Malayalam hit Vellimoonga, I chose to do it in Tamil and felt no one better than my associate Venkat Raghavan to direct it’, says actor-director-producer Sundar C.
The Tamil version titled Muthina Kathirikai features Poonam Bajwa opposite Sundar C. Actor Sathish plays the comedian. Siddharth Vipin has composed the film’s music and background score.
Cinematography is by Bhanu Murugan and N B Srikanth is the editor. Muthina Kathirika is produced Avni Cinemax and it would be distributed by Sri Thenandal Films.
Recently the audio of the movie was released in a gala manner. Speaking on the occasion, Sundar C, said, ‘Venkat raghavan has done a wonderful job. He can be called the next Bhagiyaraj in Tamil cinema. The movie has been given a clean U certificate’.
On her part, Poonam Bajwa, said, ‘It is my second movie with Sundar C after Aranmanai 2. I play a meaty role in the movie and thank Sundar C for the opportunity’.
Venkat Raghavan, expressing his gratitude to Sundar C, said, ‘This film will have comedy throughout. The film talks about normal life of a 40 year old politician with adequate mix of humor. We shot the film in places like Ambasamudram and Courtallam.’
We have made enough changes in the story to suit Tanmil audience, he added.
Muthina Kathirika will be out on 17 June.
