Several film personalities have welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to abolish Rs 500 and 1000 rupees notes.
Among the first to send his appreciation was superstar Rajinikanth, who tweeted, ‘Hats off @narendramodi ji. New india is born #JaiHind.’
Actor Kamal Haasan also joined, he said,’ Salute Mr. Modi. This move has to be celebrated across political party lines. Most importantly by earnest tax payers.’
Other prominent actors and actresses have also voiced their appreciation about this new move.
Radikaa Sarathkumar said, ‘The new chip embedded notes will entail accountability. This is for people cribbing on the rtrn of black money. Master stroke.’
Says Khushbu Sundar, ‘I will appreciate #PM 4 keeping the move in such a secrecy 4 months..heard many hve gone in2 coma as blackmoney is jus a waste paper now.’
Meanwhile, PM Modi has replied to some of these tweets. His reply to Rajinikanth is, ‘Thank you. All of us have to work shoulder to shoulder and create a prosperous, inclusive and corruption free India.’
His reply to Kamal’s post was, ‘This step was taken in the interest of our honest citizens who deserve a better India.’
