Huge waterfalls, dense cold forest, huge palace, war zone. There is much and more in Baahubali, by S S Rajamouli. The movie has grand sets, splendid visual effects and above all specyacular performance by the artistes.
The movie brings together Prabhas, Anushka, Tamannah, Rana Dagubatti, Nasser, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan among others.
After Naan Ee, Rajamouli has opted for a royal treatment. There is his favourite Kichcha Sudeep playing a cameo.
Shiva (Prabhas) is found on a river by villagers. He is brought up by a old woman Ramya Krishnan. He has supreme strength. One fine day, he spots Avantika (Tamanna) and falls in love with her.
As time passes by, he comes to know that she and her group are trying hard to rescue the royal princes Devasena (Anushka) from the evil clutches of Bhalaladeva(Rana). Shivudu decides to help Avanitka and enters the kingdom.
Three cheers to VFX effects by V Srinivas Mohan. Every bit of hard work adds value to the movie. Music by Maragathamani is a strength to the story.
Karky’s powerful dialogues elevates the mood, Prabhas as Baahubali sizzles. He is a scene-stealer. The scene where he lifts sivalingam is phenomenal. Rana as villain and an evil king is outstanding.
Tamannah, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan have a part to play. Anushka has little screen space.
Songs are a break but is compensated by a visual grandeur.
Rajamouli scores a six.
