V C Vijayashankar, who worked as associate to filmmakers like Cheran, Thangar Bachchan, Simbhu Devan and Jayam Raja makes his foray as independent filmmaker.
His maiden venture is titled Oru Kanavu Pola. The movie brings together Ramakrishnan and Soundararajan. A newcomer Amala plays the heroine.
Aruldass, Mayilsamy, Charlie among others are also in the cast. Music is by ES Ram and lyrics are by Snehan, Pulamaipithan and Muthulingam. Cinematography is by Azhagappan, who worked on over 60 Malayalam films.
Says the filmmaker, ‘The movie is about two friends. One is a lorry driver and another wants to become a playback singer. Both chase their dreams. What happens in their lives forms the crux. There is romance, humour and emotional elements in the movie’.
