Thozha – Review

It is not very often that you would see two big stars come together to be part of an emotional drama. Call it a surprise with Nagarjuna and Karthi coming together for Thozha. High on emotion, the movie is filled with fun-elements to ensure all is well all through. According to the title, Thozha is about the camaraderie shared between two individuals of different backdrop. When situations bring them together, life takes a turn and what happens then form the rest. Nagarjuna plays a surprising role and honestly, he pulls it off in an impeccable style. He carries the whole story in his shoulders and delivered it well. Karthi gives him right company and does it aplomb. He is cool, spontaneous and does a stellar show. A well brought out script by director Vamsi who ensures the pace is not lost though the movie is laced with emotional elements. Karthi, an ex-conman meets Nagarjuna, a millionaire suffering from a rare condition, which confines him to a wheelchair. Karthi is hired to take care of Nagarjuna. After struggles, the two eventually develop an understanding towards each other and over a period of time, become good friends. The rest of the film revolves around the story behind Nagarjuna’s disability and Karthi’s personal life. Inspired by Hollywood flick The Intouchables, which has been changed well to suit Tamil masses, Thozha is all about bromance. Music is by Gopi Sundar are passable while the BGM does go hand-in-hand with the script. Dialogues are by Raju Murugan of Cuckoo fame and Murugesh Babu. With emotions and humour at right mix, Thozha makes an engaging watch.
