9th Annual Vijay Awards which was held on 25th April 2015 was attended by an array of stars from the film industry, eminent directors, notable producers, top-notch technicians will be telecast on May 17 and 24, Sunday 2 pm.
With international standards, grandiose sets and with live performances of director cum actor Prabhu Deva, Sruthi Haasan, Tamannah, Pooja Kumar, Lakshmi Menon, Hip Hop Tamila and IGT (India’s Got Talent) were the highlights of the show. Anchors Divyadarshini (DD) and ‘Neeya Nana’ Gopinath hosted the show and kept the crowd enthralled.
Best make up and constume disgner award were given to ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’. Best production desinger was Saabu Crycril, Best Editor was Vivek Harshan, Best Choreographer was Shobi for the song Óruthi meley’from the movie ‘Jeeva’, Best stunt director was Supreme Sundar, Best cinematographer was Gavemic U Ary.
Contribution to Tamil cinema was given to AVM, Best lyricist was Kabilan, Best Male playback singer was Pradeep for the song Áagaayam theepudicha’, Best female playback singer was Uthara Unnikrishnan for the song ‘nadhi pogum’ from the movie Pisasu. Best background score award was given to Santhosh Narayanan.
Best music director was Anirudh for the film ‘VIP’. Best supporting actress was Seetha for the film ‘Koli Soda’. Best supporting actor Kalaiarasan for the movie ‘Madras’.
Best debut director was Ram, Best Debut actress was Malavika Nair for the movie ‘Çockoo’ . Best debut actor was Dulquer Salman, Best villain was Bibby Simha, Best comedian was Thambi Ramaiah for the film ‘Kathai thiraikathai vasanam iyakkam’.
Special Jury Award for Best film was given to ‘Madras’. Special jury award for ‘Innovation’ was given to ‘Kochadaiyaan’.
Best child actor award was given to Sarah, best crew award was given to ‘Sathurangavetai’. Best find of the year award was given to Raju Murugan for the film Cuckoo. Best story, screenplay writer was given to Vijay Milton, Best dialogue write award was given to Parthiban, Best film award was given to VIP. Best director award was Karthik Subburaj, Best actress award was given to Amala Paul, Best actor Dhanush.
Favourite hero award was given to Rajnikanth, Favourite Heroine award was given to Hansika, Favourite film was Kaththi, Favourite Director award was given to A.R. Murugadoss, Favourite song was ‘Amma Amma’ from VIP.
