Narendra Modi tweeted, ‘A promising career is cut short. Kalabhavan Mani was multifaceted and popular. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family and fans’.
Mammooty, said, ‘When I asked him why he was losing weight rapidly, he told me he was on a diet. I did not know his condition was not good. He was a friend, an actor, a phenomenal singer, whose demise is a great loss to the industry. This is all too sudden and I am in shock. To whom should I complain about this death?, Mammootty said.
Oscar award winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty, said ‘The ethnic sound of Malayalam cinema is gone silent…irreparable loss’.

Mani’s last film in Tamil was Papanasam alongside Papanasam. And no sooner the news of his death broke out, Kamal Haasan expressed his grief in twitter.
The actor wrote, ‘Sad about my friend Kalabhavanam Mani. One more of My Malayalee brothers dying of cirrhosis. He had more talent than time.’
