Alleged misappropriation of Nadigar Sangam funds to the tune of Rs 1.65 cr by former president R Sarathkumar during his term in office and plans to come up with their own building at the association grounds are expected to top the agenda at the 62nd general body meeting of South India Film Artistes Association here tomorrow.
The first GB meet of the newly-elected team of office-bearers led by its president Nasser and general secretary Vishal will take place at Loyola College from 2 pm tomorrow. All the 3000-odd members have been extended invitation for the same.
The general body meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of a police complaint filed by the Sangam’s trust against Sarathkumar, former general secretary Radharavi and erstwhile treasurer Vagai Chandrasekhar.
It was alleged in their complaint that the trio had misappropriated funds to the tune of Rs 1.65 crore from trust funds. A show-cause notice has also been issued to them seeking their explanation.
Sources in the association, said, ‘we have extended invitation to all members including Sarathkumar and Radharavi. We expect them to attend the general body meeting’.
