Nadigar Sangam is planning to get Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth on board for a cause. But this time for a play.
At the first general body meeting of the newly-elected office-bearers of the Nadigar Sangam here yesterday, it was resolved to construct a building on their own at the Sangam grounds in T Nagar and ways and means to garner funds for the same.
Sources say that besides holding a star cricket match at M A Chidambaram Stadium on 17 April, the Sangam is planning to organise a stage play that would feature the two top actors coming together.
President of Nadigar Sangam Nasser said, ‘It is my dream to come out with a stage play on the epic Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki. And to have both Kamal Haasan and Rajini to be part of it would be a delight’.
‘We have urged them to consider our request, If things go well, we will stage the plays in Chennai and even abroad where Tamils live in large numbers’, he added.
