After bagging two prestigious Remi Awards in 49th WorldFest Houston International, Kanavu Variyam, is now heading towards Shanghai International film Festival.
Directed by Arun Chidambaram, the movie won 6 International awards.
‘Kalla Manna’, a song from the film composed by Shyam Benjamin was awarded as Best children Song.
The movie is produced by Dr A Chidambaram and Karthik Chidambaram under the banner of DCKAP Cinemas.
‘Even though I was based at Chicago, I was in tune with the mind set of Tamil audience and kept myself up-to-date. And finally I decided to make a movie, something that is close to people’s heart. So I took power cuts in Tamilnadu as the plot and came with the script.
The movie has a bunch of newcomers in the lead roles and the story will throw light on the electricity issues that rural people have been facing for many years now. I wanted my film to be fun and commercial, hence Comedy is spread throughout the movie,’ says Arun.
