Jallikattu controversy has once again come to the fore after actor Vishal’s comment.
The actor had earlier said that he stood by the decision of the Supreme Court banning the sport.
He made the statement in the context of accepting an award from the People for Cattle in India, an NGO which works for cattle welfare.
Vishal was awarded for his active endorsement of animal causes and animal welfare issues.
However, this has triggered protest among some activists, who said that Vishal has no right to comment.
They add that he does not know about the importance of jallikattu and they strongly condemn his comments.
The actor has come out again to defend himself on it, he said, ‘I reiterate I hv Nthn against #jallikattu. case s in Supreme Court regd dis. n it is not rite to comment on somethin wich lies in court period.’
