Arunraja Kamaraj’s lyrics and voice in Neruppu Da (Kabali) has become a rage and an anthem among Rajini fans.
A native of Trichy, he completed engineering and left to Chennai in search of his dreams.
Says Arunraja, ‘Since my school days, I wanted to make a mark in cinema. Once I completed my engineering, I chose to pursue my passion. While working in an IT firm in Chennai, I was searching for opportunities’.
Thanking actor Sivakarthikeyan for helping him enter comedy shows, he says, ‘As mimicry is a tough art to master, it made me a more creative person.’
Arunraja made a mark with his skills as writer and actor. But also he chose to pursue filmmaking and came out with several short films that was appreciated by many.
He says, ‘directing is my passion. I have been trying to master all the other crafts only to equip myself as a filmmaker. I know I can do full justice to it’.
When asked about how he ended up as an actor, he says Atlee should be credited for giving him an interesting role in Raja Rani.
‘I’m as crazy in real life as my role was in the movie. Atlee particularly loved my laughter, and that’s how he cast me.’
Ask him what next, he says, ‘ I have not met Rajini sir in real. Wish that happens soon’.
