If all goes as planned, the makers of 2.0 will be ready for a grand release next Deepavali and the first look is expected to be out on 20 November this year.
The movie is being shot at the outskirts of the city saw a grand ayudha pooja celebration.
The director Shankar, Rajinikanth and others from the cast were present for the event.
Sources say about two third of the movie has been completed and the post production works are expected to begin soon.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar plays the baddie. Joining him will be Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Shajon, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain as villains.
Amy Jackson plays the female lead and music is by AR Rahman.
Lyca Productions is bankrolling 2.0 which is shot in 3D. Cinematography is by Nirav Shah.
