Dark comedies have a way of being received by audiences. Most of the time, such movies run quite for a long time.
However, this is not the case of G V Prakash’s Bruce Lee, that hit the screens yesterday.
One of the busiest actors, G V Prakash’s Bruce Lee, does not seem to have worked well with the audience.
Directed by Pandiaraj’s associate Prashanth, it has Kirti Kharbhanda as heroine. It is bankrolled by Selva Kumar of Kenanya Films. Rajendran, Balasaravanan, Ramdoss, Anandaraj and Mansoor Ali Khan play key roles. Yesteryear actor Anand Raj plays a cop.
Ganesh / Bruce Lee (GV Prakash) is a cowardly young man. He is famous for getting beaten by up others. His close friend is Abbas (Balasaravanan). All goes well until, his girlfriend (Kriti Kharbanda), accidentally clicks the murder of a politician (Mansoor Ali Khan). Anandaraj is a police officer who is after the criminals for his own reasons.
On the other hand, Bruce Lee and his girlfriend click pictures of a second murder committed by Godfather (Mundasupatti Ramdoss). Seeing these incidents, Bruce Lee, Abbas and Kriti are determined to bring the criminals to justice. As things flow, Bruce Lee’s girl friends is kidnapped. What happens next is comedy and climax.
At a time when G V Prakash is flying high with so many films in this kitty, this movie comes as a disappointment. With a failing storyline and even disappointing screenplay, there is nothing to hold the movie together. The presence of several star list has not added any flavour to the movie.
Kriti who makes her debut in Tamil, looks pretty. She just glides through the, however, her screen presence could have been better.
Prashanth could have done better. With a star cast like this, he seems to have lost the script midway. GV’s role as the musician in the flick is below average.
