TFPC gives green signal for release of movies

Tamil Film Producers Council had stated a few ago that there will be no new releases from 23 October. However, they did a U-turn and announved yesterday that they had withdrawn the same.

A press release from Producers Council here said, ‘though we had earlier announced that we would protest, pending few issues, by not releasing any movies for Deepavali, after a meeting of executive committee of the association yesterday, it was deicded to withdraw the decision and green signal has been given for the new releases on the festive day’.

This would mean the likes of Kamal Haasan-starrer Thoongavanam and Ajith’s Vedalam would be released as planned.

It may be recalled that trouble is brewing within Producers Council as its president Kalaipuli S Dhanu supported Team Sarath Kumar in the recently-concluded Nadigar Sangam elections.

It may be noted that the Pandavar Ani led by Vishal emerged winner in the polls.
