Kamal Haasan celebrates his birthday yesterday. The actor who celebrated his 62nd birthday yesterday has requested fans not to celebrate, citing the hospitalization of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
A close associate of the actor said that no birthday celebrations were being conducted by the fans of the ‘Vishwaroopam’ star.
Fondly called as Ulaganayagan, he has been in the film industry for over 50 years. He has won three National Awards and is also the recipient of the Chevalier honour by French government.
The actor who recently suffered a fracture is working on the movie Sabaash Naidu. Apart from acting in it, Kamal is also directing the flick.
Shruti Haasan, the actor’s daughter who also shares screen space with him in the trilingual Sabash Naidu was among those who greeted him. ‘Happy birthday to my darling daddy dearest,’ she wrote on her Twitter page.
Earlier, Haasan had asked his ‘welfare clubs,’ as he defines them, to stay away from any celebrations, keeping in mind Jayalalithaa’s health.
The actor’s birthday comes barely a week after his partner of 13 years, Gautami Tadmimalla, had announced separating from him without specifying any reason.
