Inji Iduppazhagi - Review

27 Nov 2015
2015 has been so far tremendous for Anushka who seems to be flooded with hits - Baahubali and Rudharamadevi made it big at the box-office. All eyes were on to see whether the talented actress score an hat-trick with Inji Iduppazhagi. It carried more expectations on its sholders. Does it live up to expectations ? Answer be the movie is neither here nor there. But one should appreciate the effort pout in by Anushka who put on extra weight for her role in the movie, which her contemporaries would fear to do. The movie directed by K S Prakash Rao has Arya playing the hero. Inji Iduppazhagi is about the size-zero fixation, and the importance of inner beauty and has been told in an entertaining way. She plays sweety, a young bubbly girl who is over weight. She is object of fun for the weight. But an innocent girl she takes it ion her stride. Her mother Urvashi is worried about her daughter's obese. Enters Abhi (Arya). A friendly fun-loving youth, he shares a good rapport with Sweety. And when sweety is about to open her heart to him, she comes to know of his affair with a good looking and a beautiful girl Simran (Sonal Chauhan). Now Sweety hits the gym. She wants to win Abhi's hands. How she does it forms the rest. Anushka is awesome. She is the flesh and blood of the movie. She does pull it off well. Arya has little to do while Sonal Chouhan oozes glamour. Maragathamani's songs are okayish but Nirav Shah's camerawork is rich and glossy. Produced by PVP Cinemas, Inji Iduppazhagi is Anushka special. On the whole, it is a film with cute little moments that engage your attention. Inji Iduppazhagi - Anushka all the way
